Roosevelt/Alliance Schools Poinsettias

Many Doty Island Residents found a paper pointsettia taped to their front door. This is an annual event courtesy of Roosevelt and Alliance Charter Elementary Schools. On the back of the pointsettia it states, "Hello Neighbor, The boys and girls of Roosevelt/Alliance Charter Elementary Schools would like to wish you happy holidays with this pointsettia. By an act of Congress, December 12 was we aside as National Pointsettia day. The date marks the death of Joel Roberts Pointsett, who is credited with introducing the native Mexican plant to the United States. We are hoping you will display this pointsettia on your door or in your front window during the holiday season and all of us in the neighborhood will enjoy them! Happy Holidays from your friends at Roosevelt/Alliance.
