Volunteer to Help Your Neighbors!
Habitat for Humanity's Rock the Block DOTY ISLAND is happening September 21st through September 23rd. Now that Habitat has reached its full capacity for projects (exceeding $400,000 in repairs for Doty Island residents!!), they are now looking for volunteers to be crew members to help with the smaller projects like yardwork, painting and small repairs. Here is your chance to directly impact your neighborhood for the better!
Are you able to volunteer for a day or two? On Thursday and Friday the time blocks are available as four hour shifts (7:00am-2:00pm & 12:00pm - 4:00pm) and all day (7:45am - 4:00pm). On Saturday, the shift is only 7:00am to 2:00pm
When volunteering, wear comfortable clothes and good-fitting shoes. Feel free to bring your own work gloves if you prefer... Safety glasses will be provided if you do not bring your own.
Water and light snacks are provided. It is suggested to bring a reusable drinking container. Lunches are provided by Sponsors. The Doty Island Development Council will be providing the lunch on Friday. We don't know what we are providing yet, but I'm sure it will be delicious!
