2017 Volunteer of the Year Award
Every year the Doty Island Development Council recognizes a member of the community who volunteers their time to improve life on Doty Island. This year we are recognizing an organization that impacts everyone around them - everyday! The 2017 Volunteer of the Year Award was presented to the Neenah-Menasha Fire Rescue last Thursday at the Doty Island annual dinner.
The Neenah-Menasha Fire Rescue volunteer their time and money to various charities in Neenah and Menasha. Since 2003, the Firefighters have raised and donated over $100,000! This year, on Doty Island, they have volunteered their time and efforts in January's Winter Gala (they made and served the chili) and Doty Island's annual picnic in August (they cooked and served the hot dogs, plus brought their truck for tours). You'll also see them volunteering their time with the annual Santa float! In addition to the Doty Island activities, they also participate in the following:
