Ballroom Dance Again!
We had so much fun last year that we are doing it again! We have a few changes though... for instance, we have partnered with Valley Social, Boogie Ballroom and Emprize Brew Mill to provide a Happy Hour for lessons, a Dance Showcase and appetizers during the dance. For those traveling from afar, we have a block of room set aside at a local hotel. We've also made a donation to the Menasha Park & Rec Department to help fund new lights in the Memorial Building - that means "no more fluorescent lights!". Here are the details....
THE LOCATION: 640 Keyes Street, Menasha. The Doty Island Ballroom Dance will be held on the second floor of the Historical Menasha Memorial Building. Please note, there is no elevator to the 2nd floor. Our Doty Island Development Council donated $1,400 to the Memorial Building in January 2019 to eliminate the old fluorescent lights! Yeah! Depending on weather, we may have the balcony open.
THE BAND: We are happy to announce we are bringing The Bob Kuether Orchestra back again this year. We received many compliments from last year's dance and were requested to host them again this year. They are a 9-piece orchestra including two singers. The band specializes in ballroom dances. They play everything from Tango, Swing, Fox Trot, Cha-cha and many more. REQUESTS ARE WELCOMED! HAPPY HOUR: Courtney and Chuck from Valley Social have volunteered to host FREE Beginner Classes at The Attic (downtown Menasha). If you'd like to read more about Valley Social, please visit their website at: https://www.valleysocial.com They will offer three courses:
4:50pm to 5:00pm - Jitterbug
5:30pm to 6:00pm - Rumba
6:30pm to 7:00pm - Fox Trox

BALLROOM SHOWCASE: Boogie Ballroom will be dancing for us at 9:30pm. We haven't quite figured out the details yet, but we will update them here as we get closer to our final plan.
