Time Traveler's Camp!

There's a new program being offered by the Neenah Historical Society and I, for once, wish I were a younger so I could participate! The Neenah Historical Society invites you to learn what life was like more than 100 years ago at three day camps (Fridays, June 15, 22, & 29) at different Neenah landmarks.

Time Traveler's Camps are for students in grades 2-6 and are $15 each or $40 for all three (Class# 221205-D). Campers will need to bring a sack lunch each day. Registration begins in April and can be taken care of through the City of Neenah Parks and Recreation Department office (920) 886-6060. City of Neenah Residents can register starting tomorrow (April 4th). Non-Residents can register starting April 18. Here's the Registration Form:

June 15th

Doty Cabin

Class# 221205-A

At Serving Up History, time-traveling campers will tour Doty Cabin and learn how different food preparation was for Neenah’s early residents. Campers will then walk to Whiting Boathouse to cook and sample some dishes that come from Neenah’s past.

June 22nd

Neenah Public Library

Class# 221205-B

Work with Neenah Police Detectives during the second day camp to learn about how historians and police detectives work in similar ways in order to solve mysteries and learn the truth. Campers will then tour Neenah’s historic downtown to uncover clues to the past.

June 29

Hiram Smith Octagon House

Class# 221205-C

Neenah is a city of makers! Campers will tour the Octagon House to learn about Neenah’s inventive past and make art inspired by our internationally known industries during Industry & Art at the Hiram Smith Octagon House.
